Loud and Bad experience. Hostess and waitress were both friendly. However, we were having our cocktails at 7:15ish and started to hear a loud thumping noise almost like a train was going by and the entire building was shaking. We debated staying for dinner and were told it was just a DJ in the basement testing the sound and it would only take about 20 minutes and they would be done until their actual show at 9pm. Well, the noise remained the entire duration of our meal with a few very brief intervals of peace. It was very distracting and disappointing. The so called DJ and the sound manager were super rude when I asked about it. Wow. Would not recommend this place and will not be returning. I feel for them. It is a cute place and has potential but whoever is managing it should really reconsider their choices.

I loved the food. All four of us had fantastic food for very different dishes. Drinks were great as well. Service was kind and efficient.

We came for a 8:30 reservation on New Year’s Eve and were seated early! The staff was so kind and very attentive to our needy requests. Hadley was amazing! We ordered the steak frites( 10/10) and their rainbow trout special (10000/10) The ranch was amazing, the lemonade was so refreshing, the trout was delicious. We are tourists but I will definitely be reminiscing about this food while back home.

Where to start… huh. Genuinely, I’m confused how this place can continue to charge these kinds of prices for the food they are serving. I understand this is an expensive mountain town, but management needs a serious wake up call. I do want to say that in terms of service, our waitress did a great job of checking in on us even though we could tell she was having a very busy night. However, there’s some serious issues in the back of house. We were told originally there was only 1 thing they were out of for the night to then eventually face a seemingly never-ending cycle of being told they didn’t have what we wanted. In total, 6 of our requested items we could not get. It got to the point where we were making jokes about having to check if our orders were in stock, just to get told 2 minutes later that those items were out. Ok, I understand sometimes it’s hard to guess what people want to order. I could see past this, except 4/5 of the meals we ordered (half of which we didn’t even really want) were substantially lacking and/or downright awful. The steak was actually pretty great, so if you have to go here, please order that. The fish and chips were passable, but something you could get for half the price at similar quality. Please, I beg you, if you go here DO NOT ORDER THE BISON BOLOGNESE. $35 for a dish that tasted like water (and this is not an exaggeration at all). It’s laughable, actually, how our whole party tried a bite and had the same blank look on their face. If the chef served us chef boyardee, it would have been a huge step up because at least it would have tasted like tomatoes and spices. If I had known that “half chicken with fingerling potatoes” means “half chicken with a singular half of a fingerling potato” I wouldn’t have ordered it. At least they did bring a small side of mashed potatoes after we mentioned this, which was by far the only genuinely good food item we were served. Didn’t help much that the owner (maybe manager?) came by and made a joke about it, not seeming at all concerned about the poor meal experience we were having. His response to our disappointment was to say to come back again to try the food we actually wanted to order? How are we supposed to trust they will have it, let alone be worth the arm and leg they are charging? In all honesty, I’m not the type to ever need to write a review about a dining experience, but walking out having payed what we did with pretty much zero care from the management about our bad experience and food that realistically should have been a quarter of the price for the quality, I felt that I had to. Guys, don’t go here. Not until ownership starts to step up.

Update: I visited again this past weekend and the experience just wasn’t the same. Overall weird vibes- the food wasn’t nearly on par with the first visit. I will try one more time this winter and update again. Have been coming to Crested Butte in the Summer for years and this has quietly become the best restaurant in town. Had the elk sandwich with sweet potato fries and my wife had the kale salad. Great atmosphere, great drinks and phenomenal food!

My husband and I hosted a night before wedding celebration for our son and his fiance in the tap room. Everything was great from start to finish! Our 50 guests were delighted expressing their appreciation for the food, service, staff, and overall experience!

While exploring Crested Butte, I discovered that they brew local beer here and knew I had to try it. I was directed to this spot, and from the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the hospitality. I mentioned that I wanted to try their local beer, and not only did they give me a great recommendation, but they also offered samples of two other options to compare. My sister and I each ordered a beer, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choices. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming, and the staff is simply outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. This place has that special charm that makes you want to stay longer and come back again. Definitely a must-visit!
